Leah Wake Artist Statement

I am attempting to translate the unspoken language of my awakening mind through art with purpose. Humbly living in the eternal now, I strive for knowledge, spiritual growth, love, and light. I channel these elements into visual masterpieces that reflect my past, present, and future. My work is an attempt to convey the optimism of what I see in my mind's eye but cannot express through words. I don’t use references for my visual art; I paint from within. My message has never been clearer, so it's just a matter of spending the time painting to work it out. When I’m painting and drawing, it feels like I’m having the longest meditative conversation of my life. Though it’s a personal conversation, it has become my quest to develop more of these dialogues in paint, as they are becoming part of my legacy of light. I do this work not only to awaken my own mind but also to shine a light of hope on the world through all my creations.

SOWING SEEDS OF LIGHT

Now, stepping back to seriously focus on my own artwork, I hope to incorporate all that I’ve learned into this next phase of my journey. As I am planting the seeds to start work on a life’s long project of my own. This project is going to be for everyone and will take years to build, as any real dream does take time to become.  I am committing myself to planting and building a sacred garden of hope. Not just any garden,  but a garden of dreams that I’ve been envisioning for a long time. Everything in my life has prepared me for this work. Including all that I learned with Bonnie prepared me quite perfectly to start working on my very own legacy work before the age of 40.

Stay tuned, this still feels like the beginning of something really special.
